End Times & Hope

Jesus Christ will return. This promised hope calls believers to comfort one another, remain faithful, proclaim the gospel, and live in readiness for the Lord.

Key Scriptures (KJV)

“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

John 14:2-3

“Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”

Acts 1:11

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

Titus 2:13

The Believer’s Blessed Hope

Jesus Christ Will Return

The return of Christ is a certain promise, not speculation. The same risen Lord who ascended into heaven will come again personally, visibly, and gloriously.

Believers Have a Living Hope

Those who belong to Christ do not face the future with despair. At His coming, the dead in Christ will rise, living believers will be gathered to Him, and His people will be with the Lord forever.

Be Ready and Faithful

Scripture calls believers to watch, pray, live holy lives, serve faithfully, and proclaim the gospel. Biblical readiness is not date-setting; it is steadfast obedience to Christ today.

Comfort One Another

Teaching about Christ’s return should strengthen hope and encourage faithful living. God will judge evil, make all things new, and dwell with His redeemed people forever.

Questions for Reflection

  • Does the promise of Christ’s return give me hope and shape my priorities?
  • Am I faithfully obeying what Jesus has already commanded?
  • Who needs to hear the gospel and the hope of eternal life in Christ?
