Unit 5 • Jesus Changes Everything

Mary

Trusting God and welcoming His promised Son

God chose Mary for a unique part in His rescue plan. She received the angel’s message with faith, carried Jesus, and treasured God’s work in her heart.

Who Was Mary?

A young woman who humbly trusted God.

Mary lived in Nazareth and was pledged to marry Joseph when the angel Gabriel announced that she would give birth to Jesus, the Son of God and promised King. Though she did not understand every detail, Mary responded as the Lord’s servant. She visited Elizabeth, praised God for His mercy, traveled to Bethlehem, and gave birth to Jesus. Mary watched Him grow, followed His ministry, stood near the cross, and later gathered with His followers after the resurrection.
