Moses

Called by God to lead His people to freedom

God met Moses in the wilderness, sent him back to Egypt, and worked through him to lead Israel out of slavery and toward the promised land.

Who Was Moses?

The leader God called at the burning bush.

Moses was born when Pharaoh had ordered Hebrew baby boys to be killed. His mother hid him in a basket on the Nile, Pharaoh’s daughter found him, and he grew up in the royal household. After fleeing Egypt, Moses became a shepherd in Midian. God spoke to him from a burning bush and sent him to confront Pharaoh. Through signs and plagues, the Passover, and the Red Sea, God rescued Israel. Moses later received God’s commandments and led the people through the wilderness for forty years.

Moses’ family acted courageously, and God preserved his life through Pharaoh’s own daughter.

After Pharaoh repeatedly refused, God brought judgment on Egypt and provided the Passover as protection.

A way through the sea

God opened a path through the Red Sea, rescued Israel, and showed that He alone is mighty to save.
