Who Was Thomas?
The disciple who moved from doubt to worship.
Thomas was one of the twelve and was also called Didymus, meaning twin. When Jesus decided to return toward danger in Judea, Thomas courageously urged the disciples to go with Him. During the Last Supper, Thomas admitted he did not understand where Jesus was going. His question led to Jesus’ great answer: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Thomas was absent when Jesus first appeared after the resurrection and said he needed physical evidence. Eight days later, Jesus came again and invited Thomas to examine His wounds. Thomas responded, “My Lord and my God.”
