Who Was Jacob?
A man God patiently transformed.
Jacob was the younger twin of Isaac and Rebekah. He later obtained Esau’s birthright and blessing through manipulation and deception. Jacob fled from home, but God met him in a dream at Bethel and promised to stay with him. Years later, Jacob returned, made peace with Esau, and wrestled with God through the night. God gave him the new name Israel. Jacob became the father of twelve sons whose families formed the tribes of Israel.
