Who Was Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego?
Three friends who stood together for God.
Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were taken from Judah to Babylon with Daniel. Babylonian officials renamed them Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They learned the language and served in government while remaining devoted to God. King Nebuchadnezzar built an enormous golden image and commanded everyone to bow when music played. The three friends respectfully refused. They told the king that God was able to rescue them, but even if He did not, they would not worship the image. They were thrown into a blazing furnace. The king saw four figures walking unharmed in the fire, and the three men came out without even the smell of smoke.
